Default rear speaker problem

I recently replaced my CD player and all 4 speakers in my '02 Quad Cab and now the rear speakers are no longer working. I've swapped the OEM CD player back in to make sure it's not the unit and even reinstalled the OEM rear speakers but still nothing back there. First the driver side stopped then the passenger side stopped working. Any idea whats causing this? If it's the wiring, that would be a strange coincidence. Is there possibly an OEM amp that controls the rear speakers that has failed?

Thanks.

in most vehicles the fuse that controls your speakers also controls your head. check your wiring something probably isn't hooked up right. How did you wire them in there the first time around?

I used a wiring kit on the head unit and piggyback connector on the speaker wires. Both head units works fine except that the rear speakers won't play now.

Thanks.

Found my speaker in the door and the magnets on the floor. Go figure?

what kind of piggy back connectors did you use? the ones where the wires are side by side? if so you probably severed the wire try turning it on and kind pushing the wires togather and see if you get anything. out of the stock head. Some of those connectors don't work worth crap. your better to open the wires up and solder them. My ex uncle did that in a car of his using those side by side ones its somethign to at least try

the way they went out one at a time makes me think the cd player may have failed. i'd test the front speakers direct to the rear leads, then test the rear speakers to the front leads.
