Default Heater acting funny..blowing warm air

I have a 1996 ram with the 360, and it's heater is acting kind off.

When I accelerate the heater stops blowing hot air, and I hear a sucking sound come from the engine.

After that, when the RPM's get back down to around 5000, I get my heat back again.

Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Thanks

Vacuum leak, check the hoses from the intake going into the firewall and the check valve(s). Also if you have cruise control there are hoses under the battery tray that are know to go bad. BTW, I hope you just made a couple typo's in saying that "it stops blowing cold air" and "when it gets back down to 5000 rpm's". :-)
