Default Motor wants to cut off

I've got a 96 with the 5.2l. I'm having an odd problem where when I crank my truck up when the motor is warm, it revs up to 2,000 RPM like normal then falls low like it's about to cut off. Also, when I put it in drive, RPM's fall again like it's going to cut off. It also does this when putting the truck in reverse. When I stop at a light, the RPM's fall again. If I'm in reverse and I put on the brakes and stop, the truck cuts off 75% of the time. Any idea what this could be?

What happens if you keep your foot on the gas a little?

Could be an o2 sensor, pre cat. That was my fix for the problem I had when my truck did that. I went ahead and replaced the IAC as well, little sensor behind the TB. Truck ran fine after that.

Haha since were on the discussion of IAC motors... I shocked my old IAC motor this summer by accident and made my truck run 1300rpm in gear at a light with your foot on the brake lol... Felt like I was power braking it at every light in town. Exhaust sounded good too

If I keep my foot on the gas, it will run fine. I do not have a cat on the truck btw. Do I need to change the IAC? Or put something in the gas?

I'm sure your torque converter loved that.
