I have the **** in the cold position and its blowing heat and I cant turn the **** back to heat position I know its not the a/c pump for it is working great I just cant get the cold air to come in the cab. so how far do I have to go into the dash to find the other end of the blend door cable

i saw VW's answer on the other post that the blend door was cable controlled vs vacuum controlled... and i may be wrong, but i'd think the controls would be by vacuum. i'd start with the upper dash bezel thing and get to the control, and see how it works. a buddy with an old 88ish first gen replaced his dash control recently. it had big old fat push buttons and about 6 or 8 vac ports on the back. it was broken, plus, the ends of all those vac lines were all dry rotted.
