i also carry a set of the 'cable' chains
stock no. ZT 735 for up to LT 245 75-16
Security Chain Co.
Burns Bros Inc
Portland OR

i have only needed them a few times
but they go on easier than the link style
and they really helped
although they warn not to use them over 30 mph

I have studded tires which are needed for the mountains here in the Tahoe area. Cant wait to see how well it does in snow etc with just the studs and 4wd.

KNowing how to drive on snow and ice is the key. How ever a sheet of ice and studded tires, no matter how much weight you have. 5 MPH and is almost to fast.

Mine are also SCC chains, but I have the Quick Grip style (steel chain links) rather then the cable style. Mine are part # QG2226 for my 35-12.50x17's. I'd rather have the cable type with the size tire I have, but I got a great deal on these, so I couldn't pass them up.
