loud clunk
There is a loud clunk almost everytime I slow down to stop or start up from a stop. It also happens when cornering. It is a loud sound and I can feel it underneath my feet sometimes. Could this be a u-joint? if so, how would you look one over? Also what else could it be? steering?

mine was doing the same thing... I turned out that it was the front driveshaft boucing around because the four bolts holding on had walked loose
Has anyone had problems with this? i tightend the bolts a couple of months ago. Went to use the 4x4 last week and everything engaged, but when i went to pull forward there was a loud clunk and the 4x4 shifter went loose. Turns out that the bolts had walked almost completly out and they were catching on the 4x4 shifter tearing off the gromet holding the shifter together.

I get a clunking also, I notice it at low speeds, and it sounds/feels like its coming from the passenger side. I had that u-joint replaced, but noticed it went bad already. Its going back in this saturday to get replaced. I will let you know if the clunking goes away.
BUT I have noticed that the instant I touch, and i mean touch the brakes it goes away.
So I might have bad caliper guides. I have taken the wheel and did a visual, but it didn't seem any different than the other side.
if you find out what yours is, let us know.
I did check the shock, and the sway bar links.

Dropped the truck off this morning, and got it back a little while ago.
I haven't noticed the clunking, so it might have been the bad u-joint... or maybe when they reassembled that side, it might have gone back togther better????????
Anyhow, I will have to keep an eye out for excessive wear as a sign of something else going.
