getting detonation
You'll have the intake gasket set and the lower pan and gasket, you also want to replace the bolts. Intake and the belly pan too. the gasket at the belly pan thats causing the leak.
master tech could you elaborate on this? "2nd take the air breather hose off at the air cleaner housing and remove the pcv valve from the valve cover, the plug the breather hose with your thumb and with other hand, put a finger over the hole where the pcv valve was in the valve cover. You do this with engine running, if your finger trying to be suck into the valve cover, then you have a leak." what kind of leak and where would i start looking?
if you want to try the easy and cheap things first,
use a spray can of official Chrysler Combustion Chamber Cleaner (about $8)
and then follow up with
two bottles of Chevron Techron Concentrate Plus (about $10 each)
one in each of your next two tanks of gasoline

When the belly pan gasket leaks, the blow by gas and oil will be sucked into the intake and mix with fuel and goes out the tail pipe. With finger over the valve cover, you will either have a vacumm leak or blow by coming out of the valve cover.
If the gasket leaks, how does it cause the motor to have detonation?
hank will have a much more scientific explanation, but more or less this is what happens...
it sucks unmetered air from the crankcase, causing fuel mix to be leaner than the o2/pcm can adjust for. the lean mix increases piston and cylinder temperatures and i'd guess its also more volatile. all these conditions combine to ping ping ping.
