Goodluck with the Dad... If you can get rough estamtes on repairing everything that will go a long way in pushing for the Diesel. Everything you said made perfect since on what the problems maybe.
Have not had to do any of the repairs you described...But a written estimate by a well respectable shop would go great with that deal you found on a low mileage babied Diesel..
i live in sullivan county and its what I expected...i know trannys are expensive and thanks they really are great! Cost a pretty penny tho and yeah I think I might go get that on paper jmhai lol
Ok so anyway....diesel $3.19 premium gas $2.08 I currently get 12mpg highway and 10.5 in town diesels get like 20 highway and 15 in town right? So which is cheaper? and how long exactly does a 2000-2003 cummins last anyway? i know my gasser prolly wont make it too far past 170,000 miles at this rate...

they will last forever... especially if it has the NV4500HD
try and get diesel though.
the plenum shouldn't be much... but tranny will be over $2000 if you don't have a really good hookup or a used tranny. your trannsmission could also be causing the 4wd to malfunction or the transfer case could be causing the trannsmission to go bad. how many miles on the truck, just to get and idea. BUT, keep in mind these era dodge's were not known to have great tranny's. (but i'm sure you knew that)
lol ok I'll tell you what...since I want a 3/4 ton these wheels cant fit but I'd want the tires If the new truck has 16" rims. If I manage to get a new truck I'll sell you the rims and the tires if they wont fit. But no I wouldnt give my wheels and tires away I have a smaller set that I'll trade it in on. I'll prolly keep my tuner headlights taillights and cd deck cuz I kept all the stock ones.
