Default Headlight switch culprit for no low beams?

I have no low beams. I have check and rechecked fuses. I am not getting power before the lights, so it is not the bulbs. I read that 2nd gen rams do not have a relay for the headlights, I have also read that the headlight switches aren't the best. Is it possible that a fualty headlight switch could be causing my truck's low beams not to work? Daytime/turn signals/highbeams are working correctly. Thank you.

well i'm sitting in my recliner and its too cold and dark to go out and look in the pdc, but i think my 01 does have relays for the headlights. look in your pdc box beside the battery.

i wouldn't think its the on/off switch if you have high beams but no low beams. on/off does just that, on vs off, and since you have highs, the switch is working.

the multifunction sw on the column is the hi/low switch. check for power at the relays, and if none, back track to the multifunction sw. surprisingly, these are not expensive. i replaced mine w/one from autozone for $42.

Checked the pdc, no relay there for headlights. I think that the 2001 might have a different set up for headlights. I have a pull **** which controls lowbeams (one pull) high beams (two) and interior lights (twist). So it is more than an off/on.

oh. what year is it.
remove the switch and test it for voltage on all settings.

so when your driving down the road and want to switch from dim to bright - you're saying you have to reach over to the headlight switch on the dash ?

It is a 97. That is correct, the only headlight control is one ****. Very basic. The only **** coming out of the steering column is for the turn signals/wipers.

Why did you make a new thread for this? You already have a thread going on this topic.

That lever is also your dimmer switch.

Three reasons
1. It's a different subject
2. the other thread seams to be dead
3. why do you care? I can't beleive you took the time to post that.

1. No its not.
2. Why are people still replying to it then?

Honesty, there is NOTHING we can do to help you at this point. banging on your keyboard isn't going to fix your truck.

One pull of the **** should be parking lights and tail lights. Two pulls should be headlights (both low beam and high beam). Pulling the turn signal stalk toward you will switch between high beams and low beams.
