is this even going to work on a 99 ram with the 318 computer?
my cousin already swapped engines and truck won't run properly
He said some guy told him it would work, I have no idea and really
need some strong advice on this situation.
Do I just drop the distributor and let the computer take over?

 

I really don't see how you could run a 360 with a 318 pcm. I may be wrong on this, but I believe you are going to end up having to get a pcm for a 360. Anyone else?

 

yeh,you will need the pcm too.

 

There is a procedure for setting the distributor, it's best to find a garage with the proper scan tool to set it. It controls the injectors, not the ignition timing.

 

Will the 360 pcm plug to the factory wiring harness of a 318?

 

I think so. Make sure they are of the same model year.
