Default Transmission problems

Hey Y'all
I have a '96 dodge ram 2500 4x4 360 auto. When I start the truck and take of it does not want to go. It seems like the truck has to warm up first and then I have more power. I am thinking maybe a transmission service is in order but not really sure. Any suggestions.

Thanks

Have you checked your trans fluid level? I was fighting a similar battle with my ram when I started it up and it ended up having a blown front seal and my oil pump in my trans went bad. Your's may not be the same as my situation, but it could be close. Are you leaking any trans fluid?

1st check for leaks.

If you are not leaking then i would suggest that your converter is draining back overnight, sometimes it takes a minute or two to fill a converter up, especially when its cold. It may take longer depending on the condition of the oil pump. Is there an after market cooler on the truck?
