Hello from Boston- Radio question
I'm not saying your wrong or anything, but if Circuit City owns the patents, then do other places such as Best Buy, Mickey Shore, etc. use Circuit City adapters then? It seems that this would be a third party item. It does just so happen that I worked at Best Buy when I got my truck and bought my adapter from them.
The adapters that CC sells and uses are completely PnP. No cutting, splicing, or crimping at all, including the ground wire. You sure you got one from Bestbuy? Perhaps they don't mind purchasing from 3rd parties to make the installs quicker and cleaner.
The Best Buy I work at does not have any PnP adapters, just the ones you can splice/crimp/whatever on your own.
I believe the way it works is a patent is good for seven or so years. After that, everyone else can do it. So if CC goes under or not (and at 10 cents per share of stock, it ain't looking good), I think we will still eventually see the PnP adapters at other places.

from just over in attleboro. single tape deck just diddnt do it for me and my front speekers were dead too i went to circuit city and got a jenson flip up deck and wiring adapter then a dash kit from walmart ( everyone else was out they had plenty) still no front speekers though but 2 pairs of componants and new wires to the doors fixed that and sounds great with no bass still waitin for my new subs. was a simple install except the componant mounting but it was fun and no problems at all
