Default Brake Light Question

Ok guys my left brake light doesn't work, but the right does. We've changed the fuse and the bulb for the left brake light and it still doesn't light up. Any other suggestions the problem might be?
Thanks

use a voltage tester of some kind. probe the wire at the socket and see if you're getting power. for one man testing, you can turn the blinkers on. blinker light and brake light share a common circuit. if you've got power, check the socket for corrosion or junk, maybe spray out w/wd40. if no power, get the wiring diagram out of the 01 service manual in the merry christmas diy at the top. inspect/test wiring for problems. especially check for where previous owner may have snagged wires or put in a trailer connector.

probably. follow the trailer connector wiring back to where its spliced in. you'll likely find your problem there.

I would ck your trailer wiring esp if its aftermarket. disconnect the trailer wiring and see if you have power to the light. the aftermarket setup fail a lot . When I get one in for rear light problems and it has aftermarke wiring the first thing I do after cking the fuse is disconnect it most times everything is fine after that
