I was going to save up for a ram aiir hood, but i was wondering are there any problems that occur with water geting into intake(cause i want to make a dual cold air intake set-up). or any other problems peopel have had with em?

 

I have the shaker hood on my 99. See below. The first time I washed the truck after it was installed, I got water in the TB. I fixed this by drilling several small 1/8" holes around the lowest part of the filter area and have not had a problem since. The fresh cool air from this intake really did help the engine run better, not faster, but smoother. On really cold mornings it does run a little faster but not much, but is a lot quicker off the line. Jeff.

 

Oh I like that hood...wonder how it would do in my state where it rains all the time! hmmm

where did you get it and how much damage did it do to the pocket?

I dont have any problems either. My hood came with a water hole already drilled. So no worries here. JUst make sure you clear out snow and stuff.

 

I hate the guys with nice hoods...I am jealous! I don't have a grand to spend on one...guess I could just cut a hole on top :P

thats exactly how scoops started.....well thats how mopar did it to find the best scoop for the charger i think it was? 0.o
