just replace the thermostat with the stock degree one. some people can use the 180* with no codes and some cannt.

I put a 180 thermostat in my truck a couple of years ago in 50 degree weather and got the same code. It seems to occur more in the 2001 model trucks for some reason.

So I take it that P1281 is definately the code for Engine too cold too long !
I am fairly busy most of the time and dont know if I want to change the thermostat in and out based on the weather. One time and hopefully done is the way I like to operate. Does anyone have info on the 2 stage thermostat for our trucks? Let me know. Thanks.
