If you buy the software the tuner has you can do it yourself. However its pretty expensive. Your better off just paying for an unlimited tunes package and letting a pro do it.

So, for example, I could buy a used SCT tuner, load my current B&G tune and have it tweaked by Hemifever via email?

Rex I don't know everything about them so I'm not sure about that part. What I do know is what I mentioned before. All the used ones I have found are 400 bucks. Add the price of his custom tune and your over just buying a brand new one from him with tune and unlimited tweaks. I still need to ask him a few things but willk do that when I'm closer to needing it

Didn't mention this. The thing if if you think about it a bg flash is like a can tune. Its the same for everybody. A sct tune is custom. They take your info and make a tune just for you. In that case its a better tune suited for your needs.

I thought about a flash. Then I had the no bus issue. Then dealer said my pcm could be on its way out. I'm not gonna pay for a flash and take that risk of losing it. Plus I feel better knowing the sct is custom

Talon from what I gather so far its real easy to use. You plug it in. Send over the tune and take it off. The only time it stays on is when your dataloging. After you datalog you hook it into your pc. Using the free software you get from sct you transfer the info over. You email that file to the tuner and he emails you back a new and improved tune. Ya hook the sct back up to the pc install the new file. Hook it up to the truck send it over and your done.

with the widband I'm getting I can hook that into the sct and while dataloging it will read that info as well to make it even better

The B&G tune I have is supposed to be custom; however, I could of got a generic version like you say. I sent about 2 pages worth of information when I sent my PCM up to B&G. I guess I will truly never know what I have unless I have the custom software as well.

superchips is a "can" tune. A "can" tune is a generic tune for a specific type of vehicle such as our dodge ram 1500s. We get a basic tuning for that type of truck. While the SCT tuner gives a specific much more detailed tune encompassing all of the modifications and type of vehicle you have.

Suprechips are liks the hypertech's. They can only do do certain things and you can't send tunes to them

Oh I didn't know they did custom tunes. I though they only had the ones they listed and what was listed is what you got

Well, they are supposed to be custom. Now, whether or not they have a tune already set up for my modifications, IDK. I would be willing to bet that they do because my mod list is not exactly new to them, lol. I'm thinking that if I have my current tune captured on a SCT it would give me more versatility and I could take advantage of my local tuner/dyno in my area.
