Default Sig Pic

Ok, so I have a picture of my Truck sitting on my desktop(puter desktop) I tried uploading it and it doesn't show in my sig. What do I do? Does it need to be resized or is that automatic? Or what? I don't want to deal with putting it on cardomain or wherever, this should be simple and I must just be missing something.

Thanks, John

BTW, nothing special just want a pic in my sig! LOL

HA! Now I can help you, John.

Go to your User Control Panel and on the left side menu click on Edit Signature.

The signature building screen appears, and when you scroll down, there's an area titled Signature Picture. Note that underneath the upload option is the following: The maximum size of your custom image is 500 by 250 pixels or 48.8 KB (whichever is smaller).
Resize the image you want to use and upload it. *THEN* (this is the part I kept missing when uploading my picture), you'll see this hyperlink: Insert Signature Picture. Click that hyperlink, and when you preview your signature you'll see this: [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC].

Scroll to the bottom of the Signature building area and click the Save Signature button.

OK, well I'm doing something wrong. The pic is the right size and it shows on the sig pic page. When I first do it I'm choosing option 2. It shows the pic but no sig sig and I don't see a hyper link. Unless I should use option 1?LOL

When you see the pic after uploading it, the hyperlink is to the right of the pic. Click it and when the page reloads you should see the [SIG][/SIG] appear. Then, click the Save Signature button.

When I click upload, the only thing that happens is the pic appears. No hyperlink and no sig sig in the option2 box or under my written sig. This is strange, because I had no prob adding the avatar pic. And btw, how do I resize the pic.LOL So I can try that.

I think the pic needs to be renamed, IIRC from posts I've seen here. I had no prob with the avatar pic though.

Or you can upload your sig pic to Photobucket and simply put the link to the photo in your sig. Thats what I do, allows you to get around the "maximum size" limit that the forum has.
