Default oil pressure

my oil pressurewhen i start my truck is over 40 i would say 50 or so and when my truck is warmed up it goes below 40 like 37 is this normal???

Mine does the same thing. I'm running Pennzoil 10W-30.

Nothing wrong with that. Oil is thinner when it's hot.

ok thats fine but tell my why when my tuck is harmed up the oil pressure will go back down and as soon as i touch that gas it goes right back up.

The oil pump is like any hydraulic pump. Pressure and volume will increase with speed.

Edit: Make that pressure and flow rate, unless you have a variable-volume pump.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who's truck does this too I got a 98' 3500 5.9 when its cold 60psi and when it gets to normal operating temp 35psi but if you get the rpm's high enough it will go up to 40psi
