is the tranny pan from a 1973 727 the same as my 1998 dodge ram 360 4 speed auto ? I wany to make a deeper tranny pan. but i cant find a bone yard to sell me the just a pan. I know I could buy a $350.00 one but ouch. I can take two pans and weld them together. then drill some holes. and I can weld a nut for a drain plug and temp sensor.

 

The TF8 pan has the same bolt pattern as the 518. But the TF8 pan will NOT clear the 518 valvebody. Cutting and welding pans sounds like a lot of work for little gain.
