Ok I will pick up some washers before i start. Did the front of those speakers interere with the front of the door panel?
Also when you guys changed out your rear 5.25's did you remove the entire rear panel or just pull the front out and squeeze your arms in?

Ram,
What do you mean by spacers and where do you get them?
Ok this is close to what I have mine are Kappa Perfects
These are just Kappa

I would not worry about the difference between the two unless you are going to use an external amplifer ie. another amp besides direct connection to the head unit.

I caught my speakers on sale a bestbuy for $121.00 Reason for the low price is the fact that they fased out Kappa Perfect Multicomponet speakers

I think Im gonna give the pioneer tsa6962 or the tsa6972's a try, they have the mounting specs just one has a bigger tweeter.
I still need to find out if that entire rear panel needs to be removed or not on the ext. cab..

Thanks again...

Great stuff! I would suggest using a piece of plywood as a spacer instead of bolts, it seals the hole better and gives a better sound. When you buy speakers, there's usually a die that you can use to cut out the hole for the speaker, use that to make a spacer in plywood.

To install the rear speakers, you need to remove the rear panel. I removed everything except for the top 1/3 or so, and managed to squeeze the work in.

I have Infinity Reference 9623i speakers in the fronts and Infinity Reference 5022i speakers in the rear, and I like them just fine. If HTM had told me earlier that 6.5" speakers would fit in the rears, I would have bought those instead, but nooooooo...

J/K HTM.

Jason,
Did you remove the rear seat or just flipped it up and what about the seat belts?

Default I used jvc's from wally world

fit is great and sound is better than stock. No bulge in door panel.Cant remember part # but they were low buck specials.I used kenwood 5.25 in rear doors, but i cant hear them without cutting out fronts.I squeezed arm in to install .You also need new door clips.Buy the big pack at advance auto. They say ford on package{ugh},but they work like mopar.
