the clip they included didn't work well with my rearview (its made for the airhorn landyard on a tractor trailer rig)

i got a heavy zip tie, works great

i saw how you mounted your antennas, i wish i had a rack like that(that sounded wrong on so many levels), but see no need for one in my truck, or the money spent on it

I though about unscrewing the rear view mirror and putting it there. For right now I just have in under the sun viroz tab for holding it inplace. It needs to me moved.

where ever you can find a place will work, i used the zip tie around the rearview mirror b/c i had one in the truck
another idea is one of those permenant clips they include, screw that into the headliner, or the front side of the overhead console

Mine Cobra 29LTD:

Took that after I moved it down there..
Was installed on top of the dash, but rough driving created cracks around the screws and it broke loose.
I have the power wire wired into the radio ignition wire, the antenna and PA wires run under the dash and out the passenger door.
I have a 30 something inch magnet mount antenna on the roof from RadioShack. I get SWR of a tiny bit over 1 when dry, bit higher wet.
I'm looking for a better antenna because I live in mountains. Maybe an amp, too.
I have a PA speaker mounted behind the grill. My mic is suspended from the overhead console with a small bungee-easily detachable and movable.

Any suggestions on a new antenna?

I've heard. I was looking at a Wilson 5000. Don't really like my rooftop magnet mount, though. Low boughs of fir trees keep attacking it on logging roads...

The wilison antennas are set up better than the firestick's. If you go on a cb forum they will tell you to ditch the firesticks and get a wilison.
