Default Chaged Iac motor now what?

As title says had problems with truck not wanting to idle and dieing out. Changed it out, unconnected the battery cable cel went off. Idle went down to about 800 or so,but still dropped down really low. Drove around for about 20 min light came back on.Got some seafoam put in the intake did the whole routine, clean all sensors etc. Now not only does it not want to idle but now it has a miss and wants to backfire every once in a while. Any one have this problem or have some input?

are you getting a check engine light ?
what is the code ?
is it running better, worse, or the same than before ?

its possible to get a bad IAC out of the box.

Has a cel but dont have the computer to check it.Seemed like it was running a little better after I changed it(was very corroded and covered with a black substance.Maybe the seafoam filed out the plugs, also cleaned the butterflys with carb cleaner.

Hooked it up to a computer and got p0123 tps too high, does this mean I have to change out my throttle position sensor? If so is there a certain way I have too put it back on?

i recently had idle problems with surging/dying, too fast/too slow. mine set off the check engine light with code = P0123 (tps). i would have sworn it was the IAC, but decided to trust the pcm and replace the tps. that fixed the problem.

drivers side of TB. an elec connector and 2 #25 torx. pull tps straight out. when you put the new one on, you may have to twist it back and forth slightly to get it to seat, but it'll only fit in one way. you can reset pcm or just let the cel go out on its own. it'll take a couple of trips.

Ok guys changed the Throttle Position Sensor and let it idle about 5 minutes and what do you know it now runs like new. Thanks for all the help. If there isnt a sticky on changing both of these sensors (iac, tps)there really should be. Searching around on here it seems that when there is a surging problem or horrible idle it usually turns up to be both of the sensors and not just the one.
