you actually can get over 400hp out of these engines. and then it will be broke down, just like yours. most people donnt want to rebuild every 5k or so. or have the money.

and you are talking about 2 totally different types of engines.

and if he spent the money you have, he could get that kind of hp and waaay more torque.

and i am not saying your ricer is not bad ***,i am just trying to make a point.

Like i said, our 360 blocks are capable of 400Hp. You just need to do a complete engine rebuild and make sure the block is still well enough to take it.

Haven't any of you guys picked up a mopar magazine or and engine builders magazine and read of a 400+ horsepower buildup out of a 318 smallblock???

These engines can do 400 easy. Only thing is can your wallet, tranny, drivetrain, brakes, exhaust, and motor take it?

Slap some good high flowing heads, headers, new intake manifold (not a K&N air filter), fatter injectors, possibly a capacitor powered high output ignition system, some nice shiny high compression pistons, new rings and bearings, cam, roller rockers, throttle body, forged steel crank, DTT transmission with billet everything, some nice new gears, new tires, and some upgraded stainless steel brake company brakes on your truck and that should be worth quite a few ponies. You should be able to stomp on most anything with a setup like that. And then go for the supercharger or turbo. And yeah... Don't cheap out and try to reuse those gaskets.

If you don't decide to do all of that, you might wana try upgrading your ignition system, indexing your plugs, getting some low resistance plugs and plug wires and then add on little by little after that. That'll give you a nice boost and it won't be too bad on the wallet.

But for real, look into the mopar mags for engine builds. They cover it all.
