You can also get a spark plug non fouler, 19mm thread I believe. Works for some.

It's a Non -Fouler not a spark plug. It's a tube with male threads on one end you screw into the exhaust and female on the other to screw the 02 sensor in. They can be had at almost any parts store for no more than 5 bucks. It moves the 02 sensor out of the direct flow and fools the 02 sensor so to speak. Only thing I'm not sure of, is whether or not you should drill the small hole that's in the male end of it out to a larger size. Maybe someone else will chime in about this topic.

You put it in the same spot where the 02 sensor came out of. And yes it just mounts it out farther so the end of it is not down in the pipe.

A "friend of mine" had his converter plugged up and he got someone to put a straight pipe in it. Eventhough there is an O2 sensor before and after the converter, there was no CEL. I don't know if this is just luck or if it was something with his 99 Ram

Hey Hammer Z71 Super moderator placed the exaxt information you need under Technical Information -DIY section. Check it out it will show you how to adjust the spark plug non foulers to place your O2 sensor out of the direct exhaust path. Alot cheaper than a simm.
