i was told the Gibson systems are the best performance exhaust systems for the buck. And they have a nice rumble to them. Look them up on summit and tell me what you think. bout 350 bucks for the entire system.

Its what sound you like the best. If you like the way it sounds, go for it.

Flowmasters are probably the worst flowing "performance" mufflers, people buy them because of the unique sound, anybody ever try too look through one? I sometimes wonder how the exhaust finds it way out of that maze

Ok, I stated this in the 3rd gen, but I will say it again. Magnaflow mufflers are nothing more than a glorified glass pack. That is why you can look through them. Yes being an open flowing muffler they are going to perform better than Flowmaster, but do not criticize Flowmaster based on their muffler pictures. Most people think about gases as a liquid. Gases do not follow the same physical laws that other compounds do.
Gas flows better under a pressure backed system.
Consider air, if there isn't a force to move it, it will stay put. Put a force on it (ie: a fan) and it will move. ( The first law of motion: Newton's law- "A body continues to maintain its state of rest or of uniform motion unless acted upon by an external unbalanced force."
Yes, the exhaust coming from the headers will be under pressure, but a magna flow muffler will only lower pressure. This is bad since you do not want to eliminate all of the back pressure coming off the motor.

In my opinion, I couldn't see spending over $600 on a cat back system from Magnaflow when the muffler is just a glass pack.

Laramie +1 on your post....

basically the mufflers is whatever YOU like...I like flowmaster, the looks, the sound and everything else. Some love gibson.

Hell I was at a muffler shop and one said get a Magnaflow and the other wtf get a flowmaster!

I settled on a super 44 because I like the noise, rumble and scarying hondas off but that is me.

Ever since I got the gt which had flowmasters on it I have loved them mufflers. I put one on the ram and if I had the money the 99 would have got them too. They sound great and anything is better then stock. If flowmasters were that bad they wouldn't be as popular as they are.

I went the lazy way out and put just a flowmaster on and took off the tailpipe... it sounded good and was cheap. After a while i wanted it louder so i took off teh muffler and now it is just the cat... it still sounds great and not obnoxiously loud... thanks mopar.
