when i put my magnaflow muffler on, i also started my truck without mufflers and just a cat, to see what it sounded like. i couldnt believe it wasnt any louder than what it was. i was surprised.

mufflers are another opinion that everyone has. just get what sounds good to you.

bottom line is more air and more air out.

No, you got your point across.

On the back of my DynoMaxx muffler box, it says that Dynomaxx has the best flowing(in CFM) Turbo mufflers. Gibson had the worst. Now, I guess i am getting a new muffler. My current muffler sound is getting old(boring), and is not loud enough for me anymore.

TO YOUTUBE!!!!!

I can barely understand what you just said.

The Dynomaxx box says its the best FLOWING, not THE best one you can buy.

first of all its not that hard to understand

Second best flowing would mean its the best for performance, therefor making it the "best"

I wasn't downing your **** so don't take it personal. I was just saying that every company no matter what they make considers theres the best

Thats what they want you to think. But after reading Laramie's post, you can understand that that does not make it the best.

If a company knew anything about exhaust, they wouldnt make a claim like that. Thats Dumb@ss marketing, if you ask me.

I dont care if you are downing on my muffler, i am wanting to get a rid of it, so 'nutin personal.

the stock muffler is 38 inches including the in and out "nipples."

A chambered muffler flows just as well as a "see thru" design.

Back pressure is not a desireable trait, but exhaust velocity is. Folks commonly believe that too big an exhaust reduces back pressure and this is what reduces a vehicle's bottom end torque. What really happens is the exhaust gases slow down and cool in the large pipe and a bottleneck occurs in the system before the exhaust clears the tail pipe. The "scavenging" effect is lost. This is why racers sometimes elect to jet hot coat the entire exhaust system to keep the exhaust gases as hot as they can before it clears the tail pipe.
