So im thinking about getting a new catalytic converter. Any suggestions on what ones the best and what benefits i will get from putting on a new high flow cat?

 

I have a Magnaflow high flow cat. Benefit I saw was a noticeable improvement at high RPM, escpecially when towing. Also, exhaust note is louder. I have seen no downsides unless you don't like either of the things I mentioned above.

 

+1 , However, I'm on a mission to get people to fill in there sig with the info about their trucks! Granted this is a pretty general question about a 2nd gen, but we also don't know what other mods you may have if any . So come on, get with the program people,

Yes, And you can also get direct fit with y-pipe and all, and don't have to dick around with cutting and welding.(well maybe welding if you want to do it right)More money of course. But it's your call.

 

i can just weld it myself im not gonna take it to a shop or anything.

 

Then the cat only is what you want. Just make sure the Y-Pipe is in good shape.

 

i want to replace the whole entire stock exhaust eventually, cant i clamp it on for now until i get headers and new pipes?

 

Somebody needs to post up on where to get the whole y-pipe/high flow cat assy...sorry for the jack...
