Default question about dash lights

is there a relay or fuse that controls the backlighting of the dash? i looked but couldn't find a blown fuse, it's not affecting the gauges themselves, or the radio, or the interior lights. everything still works but i have no lights on my gauges lol

thanks in advance.

Your headlight switch may have gone bad. I am going to assume that since your truck is a 95 you have the pull out switch that you can turn back and forth to adjust the dash/radio/navigator lights.
I would look there if your light fuse on the side of the dash isn't blown.

I think that the PARK LAMP fuse controls all of the outside lights and the dash light.
It could also be ILLUM and STOP LAMP.
Those older switches aren't that expensive.
The last one I bought was in May and I paid $25 for it.
IDK what prices in Canada may be.
It could also be the plug on the back of the switch, it might just be loose.

ok, an update. i quickly checked the fuses again and noticed that my fog lights don't come on anymore. the headlights work, but the fog lights do not. so now i'm really perplexed.

Im going through the same problem. My switch is bad and the plug has one outlet burnt. A part store said they had problems with that plug expanding and contracting with the weather and it shorts out the fuse and switch.. How true is his story?? Dodge has a replacement switch and plug for $95 so maybe this is it??

The price depends on which switch you have in your tru ck.
If your tru ck is older than 1998 then I think you have the cheap pull out switch. If your newer than that then you probably have the expensive switch that you turn to different positions.

Im having a similar problem, i have the 1998 motorhome which has the pull and twist type switch. I fitted a new stereo head unit but later found theat the rear lighting and the dash lights seam to be wired throught the original head unit ? so at present i have no rear lights, I also believe that since fitting the head unit, the light switch has started playing games. Im in the uk and guess im going to struggle to buy a replacement switch. Can anyone provide me with a wiring diagram for the lights so that i can bypass the headunit and so rectify the problem ?
happy new year to all !!
