Exclamation Braking problem

I recently received a 94 ram 5.2 from a friend for free. My problem is that the brakes or something are bad. I have the ABS and Brake light on. Also when i was driving it, I'm not now, it would lose brakes all of a sudden. The brakes would would everything would be great and all of a sudden i would have to push the very limp pedal to the floor to stop and then everything would be ok the brakes would come back and i would have no problem but it seems to happen over and over again. What could this be??

well you got a good deal, but having no brakes is bad. check fluid level first. if the brake pedal sometimes goes to the floor, or sinks while sitting at a red light, replace master cylinder. consider also replacing the front hoses, calipers, pads, rotors is warped. rear shoes, wheel cylinders, have drums turned. you can replace everything for a couple hundred dollars and have all new brakes. abs and brake light might be a bad abs sensor.
