Default Removing the TC from the engine

How do you remove the tc from the engine? I looked through my Haynes manual and the service manual I got off here. They both say something about bolts. Are there bolts on the inside between the engine and flexplate? I need to get it off so I can mount my engine on the stand. Also what will happen hen I get it off? There's stuff leaking out of it now. its just a feww drips but when I get it of will stuff pour out of it?

Thanks guys

The TC is bolted to the flywheel. Should be three bolts (maybe 4). So yes you have to go between the engine and flywheel to remove the bolts. When you turn the TC over on the snout it will dump all of the transmission fluid out thats in it. It will make a mess.

wonderfull! so just taking the bolts out it won't leak out? I'll have to try not to turn it after I get the bolts out. Trying to not make messes in the shed. Got furniture in there and don't think the owner of the place wants the unit destroyed by fluids.

Thanks for your help and quick response

The converter wont hold it self on the flywheel. Once you take all of the bolts loose it will fall off and dump all of the fluid.

Take all of the bolts out except one. Have a second person hold the TC and take the last bolt out.

What would be a good one for the mods I'm doing. If I should decide to replace it now would be the time. All depends on funds. Gonna go work on a job monday. Let's hope I get it and money isn't a problem anymore
