I finally got my truck up and going. I bought it not running for 1250 and have about 800 in it and it runs like a champ. Only problem I have no heat. The engine isn't getting hot is should be 210 but its only like 150 160 any Ideas? Thermostate? Is it possible that the previous owner put one that was to small in there cause it looks newer? Also my steering is really loose at higher speeds we think its the steering stabilizer link. Has any one changed one of those are they hard to do?

The previous owner may have put a 160 deg t-stat in there... Try replacing it with a new one. The steering in these trucks just sucks...right after I got mine I bought a Skyjacker heavy duty steering stabilizer...very easy to replace. They just run about $40 or so...

congrats.

replace t-stat. check it in a pot of hot water before installing. check temp with cooking thermometer.

find where the play is. make sure your box is tight. mine was loose as a goose and 5 minutes of adjustment make it like new, well, maybe not like new but much much better. i've never changed a stabilizer, but i don't think they really do all that much.

The only place I can really tell much of a difference is on the highway. Before, I was constantly sawing the wheel at those speeds, and now it feels much more stable. As for normal city driving, not much different at all.

Yes, that's it, but it replaces your factory steering stabilizer. Yours should be black and look just like that one. It's on the passenger side up front.

Not a Rancho most likely, but they all do sell them. Monroe probably. I wouldn't buy any less than a Monroe.
