Dodge Ram 2500 2001 Transmission Shifting Problem
I own a 2500 model 2001, with 120,00 miles. I started having problems with transmission shifting, slipping first, then 3rd gear wouldn't go in, now even 2nd gear wouldn't go in. But If I shift to Neutral, rev it up a little and move back to D, then it would go into 2nd or 3rd gear. It didn't matter if it was cold or hot. Fluid level was ok, pretty red, no burnt smell, filter changed 6,000 miles ago,
I reviewed many posts in this forum, I had it checked with diagnostic computer and got a governor sensor malfunction code, as many of you suggested in simmilar cases. I'm having it changed. $150 bucks for the part and installation.
Thanks to the info found on this forum, I could talk intelligently enough with the mechanic to know what was going on. Thanks

I did not contribute to the info you got here(about the tranny anyway), but I hope it works for you. This is a great site with a lot of great people, (just watch out for purpldodge) ! Sometimes he acts like he's 13 or 14! LOL JK
