Default plow guys

curious if you know, what tranny temps are you guys seeing when out plowing?

after an hour or so of back and forth ill see around 225*, but as soon as i pick the blade up and start to drive off to the next site, cools down to around 180*

just wondering if this is normal or too high

Dont work it too long at 225. You should be ok, as long as you dont over do it and give it ample time to cool down between jobs.

~180 is a perfect temp for a transmission.

upgrade your front springs to 2500 v10 springs and get beefy'er shocks. ive been plowing with my truck this being its 5th year and i just did the springs and shocks this season. made a huge difference in how the truck handled the weight of the plow and ride quality.

will ride like a truck but is worth it.

also a tranny cooler. im probably going to upgrade mine to one with a thermosat and a fan so that the fan will kick on when it reaches a certain temp and gets more air to it(not too much gets there with the plow on)

i got my springs from autozone, just told them i had a 95 ram 2500 with a v10. ordered them and had them in a few days. got my rancho rs5000's from summit. all together cost under $400. then if you factor in the cooler and gauge your looking around another $200 so totaling $600 and then the cost of the plow....but all worth it cause by the looks of it this year here in NE, gunna pay it off quickly! 2 decent storms in 3 days!!
