Default posi-lok is awsome

so I installed the posi-lok system and I couldn't be happier!

I would strongly recommend this to ANYBODY who has a vacuum actuator. The system is just unreliable in my opinion and is very easily damaged. The system was simple to install and is very reliable because there's no worrying about the actuator not working...because is all manual.

Bottom line is...I love it and it was very cost effective..which makes it awesome

glad you like it. for slow trail riding, be sure and try out the 2wd low, where you shift the t-case but don't engage the posilok. it turns easier, doesn't bind up and hop, and all that crap.

my posilok's currently on the blink. not sure whats wrong, but the cable won't pull out.

360magnumram- Glad you like it. I am getting one in the near future. I've already replaced the old vaccum one 3 times.

Glad to hear you like it. How easy was the install, or did you have a shop do it?

Vaughan, how long have you had the posi lock? I was just curious.

Do you think it's an easy fix?

not too hard. you do have to drill a darn big hole 11/16 in the firewall beside the gas pedal. locating that, while laying on your side in a twisted position is the hardest part of the whole job. everything else is just basic stuff. i've had mine for a couple of years. i love mine.

here's my semi-write up, along with a link to the one in pavement sucks.

yeah it isn't hard at all....the hardest part is finding a bit big enough for the hole in the firewall and the rubber grommet...

that was a pain...but all in all very straight forward

i used a small 1/8-3/16 for a pilot hole, then a 1/2" which was my biggest normal bit, then a triangular shaped "reamer" to get it big enough. i never did get the grommet in the hole. i just squirted it all full of rtv and called it done.
