depends where you live.. northern cold states switch there fuel for winter , So your gonna have some kind of ping .. On the plus side you have less pinging , did you switch the tstat ?? 95-97 gap is .035 , 98 on up use .040 gap ... If your at .040 gap try to set it at .038 and see if there is a less ping then what you have now... Try messing with a MSD ingition you be pulling plugs every 2 weeks to get the "good" burn.. and how did the old plugs look ??? maybe the tune is to far advance in timing and they need to turn the timing back jus a touch.. are you running a CAI , open round air filter , stock paper or KN ??? , plug wires ??? what kind of exhaust are you running ???

Yes, because pinging isn't bad for an engine at all... *cough*
I got my Flashpaq in the mail Friday, installed the 87 Economy tune. Runs better, but at WOT, it pings now. Never knew what pinging really sounded like until now, now I know. I went back to stock tune until I have the funds to pay my mechanic to put in my modified intake with Hughes plenum kit, as I know I have a slightly leaky plenum. I installed the Hughes kit on the modified intake myself, I just don't have the time/tools/space to do the whole install myself. I wish I had a heated garage, oh well, just gotta give that time I spose. Apartment life is OK for some things, vehicle modifications and upgrades are not one of them.

Yeah thats how I am to. With college, all of my work has been reduced to "let the shop do it" I dont have time nor the work area to do anything myself. Im going to have my plenum checked again when I have my new headers installed. Hopfully by the end of this week. If everything is good, like it was when i checked it. Im really at a loss of what to do besides pull by my tune and alter it. ( not really what i wanna do)
