Default 4 wheels drive doesnt work PLEASE HELP

hey guys, i got a 95 ram with the manual 4-wheel drive (looks like a shifter on the floor) ... so they other night i got stuck in a little bit of mud unexpectedly. When i went to put it in 4-HI and nothing happened, the linkage and shifter was where 4-HI is supposed to be and wont switch into 4. I then tried 4 -LO and that didnt work either, i forgot to say that everytime ive used 4 wheel drive its worked with no problem and ive never grinded any gears when using it either. please help me out, ive been stuck in my driveway for the last 3 days not moving anywhere. - John

well also to engage 4WD u sometimes have to roll forward or back about an inch. if u dont move at all, then the t-case may not be able to change its gears. just an idea. but yes, check yer vac lines and connections, i know mine works every time cuz i got a bullet proof t-case and all my connections are solid

How often do you use your 4wd? 4wd lo wont go in unless you have it in park and even than if you dont use 4wdlo that often you pretty much have to kick the SOBing shifter to get it to go in.
