Default 98 dodge ram wont start, crank nothing

I've got a 98 dodge ram 1500 that wont start, crank nothing. No sound but the lights and radio still work, checked the battery already so I know its not that. Dont know much about cars, need help ASAP. Trying to avoid taking it in if I can try testing it at home

Take the starter out. Go down to AutoZone and have them test it.

Or have a friend bang on the starter solenoid with a hammer. By bang, I mean lightly tap of course.

If it's an automatic! Try moving the shift lever around . Like from Park all the way through to drive while you try to start it. If that doesn't do anything, then check the cable going to the starter and make sure the connection is good. If that doesn't work, then try what has been posted above.

Another thought.

Check your battery cables. Not just the ends, but the actual cables. Any corrosion will be bad ju ju.
