Do not use any kind of flush at 180,000. And actually don't use any synthetic oil either. The flush and the synthetic won't cause any leaks, but they will remove any sludge that might be be blocking a leak. Just get a good filter and some good regular oil like Rotella 10w 30 and be happy.

I agree, don't use the motor flush, unless you plan on dropping the oil pan and cleaning it and the pump screen at a minimum. All that stuff it breaks loose will clog your pump screen and you'll be buying a new one. You would be just as well off to get some Mobil 1 Clean 5000 and a K&N or Mobil 1 filter and run that. The can of V8 Restore is just shy of 1 qt. You'll probably need just barely over 4 qts. of oil plus the can of Restore to hit the full line. It's all up to you what you want to run...how long you want to go between changes should be the deciding factor.

At every oil change, I use do a Motor flush, and use Engine Restore.
I also use the K&N HP-2001 Oil filter. Also the best.
I hope you have been using HP-2004, not HP-2001. HP-2004 is what K&N says is for our trucks, and what I use (either that or the Mobil1 filter).

I also use Royal Purple, but used Mobil1 before, and honestly can't say I can feel any difference between the two. Both are good oils.

Sorry, I thought it was HP-2001.

I use Royal Purple, because it goes in purple and comes out orange!
Stupid, I know.

Restore will NOT damage your engine. It's not a flush, it's a restorative lubricant.

No, it wont hurt you to use it. The oil rating on our motors is 5.5 quarts if I remember right. Unless you are already using a synthetic, I don't recomend you use it unless you plan on redoing all your seals. I run Rotella 15w-40 with either a wix or fram filter. No issues yet....

everyone might need to do some research on the engine restore. Other websites have claimed it clogged the oil filter and burnt the engine.

I have heard some mixed thoughts on it, but I think that most of the problem there was brand. There are three or four different brands of engine restore out there, and the cans look almost the same. Two of the brands that I can think of are: Chevron and Techron

And it's not called Engine Restore by brand, it's Restore. It's in a silver can with blue lettering, I believe.

I can take a picture at the local store for you tomorrow, as I need to do an oil change too, so I may just pick up the stuff to do it.
