Default 4X4 Problems

My 1995 1500s 4X4 is acting up. It goes into 4wheel drive but it will slip and jump out. It does not seem to hold a good vacum. I have replaced several of the vacum lines but does not to seem to have to helped. Any ideas of what I need to do

Are you pulling it back hard and quickly? Mine was doing something similar and it was one of the axle ujoints. Made it seem like it was jumping in and out. When it is in 4 wheel do you hear any bad noises?

Well have you checked the front axle joints? Put it in 4 wheel drive and make sure it's locked in (engaged). Jack up one side of the front axle. Rotate(by hand) the tire forward and backward while you look at the axle joint. Lower it and repeat for other side. If they both are NOT loose then there is other probs and you we can go from there.
