Here's a question seeing as this is back up, is the V10 47RE the same case as a Cummins 47RE? I have this taboo plan if/when mine gives up. It's already used on the Cummins engines and if the case bolts are the same it should smooth things out if I do it.

8.0 and the diesel use the same bolt pattern. Don't know if the torque converter is the same pattern though......

Should be the same trans.... unless one or the other was swapped out at one point. Probably wouldn't hurt to get a build sheet for your truck, to see what the factory sent it out with.

Also, you don't want to put the t/c from a bad trans onto a good trans, as it is impossible to actually clean out the old one, without cutting it apart. Did the 'new' trans not come with a t/c?

Default Transmission only

I have no info on the transmission other than the stamped number above the pan. PK 52119822 AA 3028 1523

so if the middle number is suppose to be the build date, somebody traveled back. Everything looks the same as my 518. Except the nuetral sensor. It is round on the purchased tranny and the 518 has the 5 wire square sensor.

Story is i bought a tranny that is said to be a 46re to replace the one in my 03 durango 5.9l 2wd. Not sure if it’s compatible as even dodge didn’t have an answer for me. He said I can bring the tranny back and he will change out the sensor to match my durango. I dont know if it’s possible or not. But I would like to know what tranny it is so if I need parts I get the correct ones. Thanks

Things changed over the years..... take it back, and see what he can do.

I dropped it off this morning. He said the switch is interchangeable. We’ll see. I also noticed that the pan on the bought tranny has a step in the corner as where mine does not. Not sure if that means anything but I’ll see what happens when he calls me back. Appreciate it!
