At the same time, its always best to descover that yourself. Have fun!
Most of the places I go wheeling do have low branches, but even having a CB antenna has helped me figure out how hard the branch will hit, and it's not going to hit hard at the speeds you go on the trail. Sure, it'll be annoying, but not all that damaging.

My buddy has a Ranger Pre-Runner. Very similar to Camburg's Ranger. He has 4 roof mounted and 2 bumper mounted HID's. He said about 80% of the time he can't see what the roof lights are illuminating, because the light gets aimed up into the sky with bumps. While at the same time, his bumper lights don't stray far from the road because they are mounted far lower.

In short, lights mounted at grille height seem to be a very ideal place.
My truck won't be a prerunner going over bumps at 70+. Again, the trails I go on are slow ones. And while I agree, bumps will change the angles on the lights, I still think it would be a good look for the truck.

As for the canopy...depends what color your truck is?!? Mine is silver and my canopy is dark gray. I think it looks good but to each their own taste! I had a dark purple one time and that looked good to me also. Go to the link below to see the canopy, WARNING: large image as I am just too lazy to shrink!

The cap I am looking at is light blue, and my truck is black.

The color of the cap is similar to this color:

Below is a picture of the lights similar to what I have. I am mounting those on a roll/light bar that mounts on the bed.. I had it mounted on my F150 I used to have, but it's a better fit on this bed.. now, when I had it on the F150, I just had those direct wired to a switch on the dash, and never had a problem.. But then These are larger lights than what I had on the F150, I took those lights off, and got these, because the others looked their age..

I have 4 of these:

Never did like the looks of those trail blazer light bars.

I've never understood lights mounted on top unless you have a Jeep or a Volunteer Firefighter or something. But just my thoughts.

Black truck that blue canopy....I don't know if that look good...usually lighter body darker canopy is okay but reverse that and it might look odd.

My buddy has that color blue pickup...look good on his!
