How do I put on a body lift kit?
wazzup guys, I'm new here and am REALLY new to putting on a body kit.
I just got a 3" body lift kit from Performance Accessories for my '01 Dodge and just found out it didn't come with instructions. I've searched the internet but could not find its directions.
Has anyone here ever put on a body kit on? If so any help would be greatly appreciated due to I have NO idea what I'm doing except on where to put the bushings.

First off, contact Performance Accessories and get yourself the directions. They should have came with the kit (if you purchased it new), and if not they should send you a copy without a question. The directions will help you out immensely. Just reading over them will give you the overall idea prior to starting the project.
But to sum it up in general, just remove the original body mount bolts, raise the cab/box up to install the spacers, and install new bolts. The directions will give you pointers here and there for how to execute each portion of it and what else will need to be done (like lowering the radiator/fan shroud, extending steering shaft and gas tank filler hoses, etc...).
One thing I will add is that on my truck (2000) I did not have to extend the shifting linkage or the transfer case lever even though the directions said to. I just loosened the adjuster screw and the shaft was long enough for proper adjustment. Been working good for over 8 years.
Also, I highly recommend putting some anti-seize on the new body mount bolts prior to bolting the body back down. It will save you (or somebody) a lot of troubles later down the road.
Edit: Nice color truck by the way, quite unique. I dont see it very often!
