Nominate me for Feb. TOTM!
Did you see this previous month's selections? The biggest upgrade, if I remember right, was one guy had nice tires. Three 99% stock vehicles.
Upgrades don't necessarily matter. Its if the guy is liked, if he takes care of his truck (it'll show, obviously), and (connected the the "well liked" part) if he contributes advice to people's problems when he can.
Hate to say it, but I also agree with Silver. Asking to be nominated disqualifies you from being nominated in my book, but I'm sure you could get someone here to do it for... shall we say, a small fee?
J/K.

No way!...nominate MY Caravan...it has a CD player, and look at my upgrades:
2 (count 'em 2!) cd holders...1 on each of the sun visors, each holds 12 cds.
A rechargable flashlight that plugs into the lighter.
Dash mounted ball compass.
4 bungie cords for holding stuff down.
And new front and rear wipers.
Clearly the overall winner!

I partly agree with Jim. I don't think TOTM necessarily has to pertain exclusively to a giant list of modifcaitons. I think that's unfair, and frankly, gets into who has more money to spend than others. Considering 2nd generation dodge ram trucks are at least eight years old now, I think maintainence needs to be heavily accounted for. However, I do believe it has to have SOMETHING done to it extra that makes it stick out from other ram pickup trucks. I think a very clean truck, with no rust and shiny paint, in addition with some nice touches done to it, should be able to enter TOTM. The whole notion a truck must have 6" of lift and 37" tires with 4.88 gearing, and an APS transmission is a bit much. I think regular guys who drive regular trucks, who use their truck for regular purposes should be considered more frequently..

I think it should be a combination of all the things. An all around nice truck, driven by an all around nice guy, who has done nice things to his truck. Or at least, I think that should be the goal of TOTM.
I agree. I said that it shouldn't necessarily be based on just upgrades. Like others have said, if it was just that, it'd come down to who has the most money.

The all-round nice person thing just goes under the popularity contest in my opinion. If you have a truck and have done nice things with it, and I like it, I'll vote.
jason.... i usually agree with you on most things but not this.
my point is if you took those trucks to a show you would be like there is 5 of those in the parking lot. and you would in no way win 1st place.......as indyramman said, i see those same kinds everywhere. i see nothing special about them......done on this subject.not voting, maybe next month.

Clearly to be TOTM you have to have something to make the truck stand out. Modifications are going to be %99 of the time the thing that does that.
Now I was just thinking, could there ever be a possibility for a bone stock truck to be TOTM. Could there ever be a case where it is deserving? And the only case I can think of is if someone were to find a pristine 94 Ram in a barn somewhere - sorta like the dream scenario people have with 60s muscle cars - with only like 1500 miles on it.
Other than that, this is a competition which is more than likely gonna go to the trucks that are one way or another modified and kept up. To do that does cost money, but money is indicative of the love the owner has for their vehicle, so I dont think thats a bad thing.
I'll just have to be OK with the fact that my truck will never be a candidate.
