Cat-back or just muffler
Few questions about keeping stock exhaust pipes:
1) Is the exhaust on a '99 1500 mandrel bent?
I'm going to be getting a performance muffler. I would like to save some money by just reusing my existing pipes (since it is already a single 3" aluminized pipe, and that is the setup I am staying with). So the way I see it, the only reasons to get the full cat-back is if the stock pipes are:
-not mandrel bent (not even sure how much difference this would make)
-poor condition (mine are in good shape)
I guess the Cat-back would be shinier too, but I don't care to much about that.
2) If I keep the stock pipes, should I put a new exhaust tip on and does that require cutting off the tail pipe?
3) I read that some Dodge models (namely the Hemi's) have a resonator. Does the '99 have a resonator in the tailpipe? Should this be removed if I keep the stock pipe?
Thanks.
