I dont have any of the other info but what I beleive you are talking about locking all wheels may be a trans brake.Doesnt lock the wheels but does allow you to get into the power band before letting her rip.

yes that is what i am talkin about. but i think i wil just go with a stall converter. alot easier, but i would like to not buy a whole new motor, then modify the heck out of it. i wouldnt mind just staying with the motor i have and putting some money into it. not to mention, i want this to be a half way doable driver. i hate trailer queens. 426 stroker is a hell of a motor to drive down the road.

Make sure you take a peek at this book, I'm sure a local Mopar place has one, if not the Library?

As for the kit, most people don't get a kit. They buy the parts separate which is a little more, but they get the parts they want and trust. I would definitely look into which parts you want.

The cost of the stroker parts would probably be nearing 2,000

As for the A-518, check local junkyards or even www.car-part.com for JY's in your area.

You could look into TCI Transmission and see what they have, but I'm sure you'll pay a pretty penny.

If you could find a junked A-518 for a hundred and buy some good build up parts for it, either do it yourself or someone do it on a bench.... it would probably still cost you under 1,000 which is pretty decent.

I would not have a basic transmission shop do this for you, find someone into Hot Rods and building bulletproof transmissions.

6.4 = 390

Not sure on the mounts.

Most Mopar Transmissions bolt up to their motors, the good thing about them. It should bolt right up.

Since you're going up in power in all that, you'll definitely want a new Torque Converter.

I dont know how much you know about stall convertors but if you are new to them you should deff do some studying on them.

I agree with you on the engine.
A 390 will be very nice and shouldnt break the bank either.
I plan to buy a 360 from the junkyard and start building my engine here soon and then replace the 360 thats in there.
That way I am not down until the engine is complete.

yea, i will do my reasearch. i usually do. but my dad suggested it and he has used them before i guess. but yea, i dont plan on this being a daily driver, but i want to be able to run it down the road to the mud hole or to the local bogs. get better class advantage when you can drive it there, hehe.

not only that. i am working on a little bit of a limited bank. so if anyone knows anywhere to get the 390 stroker kit for my truck cheaper then 1350, let me know.
