Lost my steering pump again!!!! HELP
First best wishes for the New Year!!
I have a 98 5.9 4x4 , for two years my steering pump quit working( the splines break off the shaft) and I replaced it with one from a junkyard.
Now I broke this one also I have not checked it what is broke but it isn't working anymore, it start with wining and heavy steering and it stopped whining and working now.
For a half year I have changed the steeringbox after a leaking seal including the trackbar, and everything involved with the steering, I placed also a steeringstabilezer from Thuren.
Now I want to buy an rebuild pump from Rockauto or a pump from PSC but I am not sure what to do.
Wich brand must I choose, The PSC, A1 cardone or ACDelco?
Must I choose with or without a reservoir?
Is it easy to get the pump out of my old reservoir?
I have a pulley removal tool, so that can be done.
Thanks for all the help and info!
Greetings,
Erik.

I broke my pump when I was off roading. The pump seized and the new serpentine belt said "screw you pump" (litterally lol) I heard this whine and the belt sheared the shaft clean off inside the pump. I swap'd mine for a junkyard pump too, till she started getting noisy and ended up getting a cardone pump with resivour. Still working for me. For the price difference, go with "with resivor" and if it asks you do not need the filter jobber. Wish you luck
