Default to plow or not to plow

I have been thinking of plowing with my truck is an 01 ram 1500 4x4 5.9 8ft bed with 44,500 i was offered a 8'6 boss v plow which new was $7,500. Never used i know is to big the boss web site said 7'6. He wants to sell it for $3,000 its is a hole set up. I know that im going to need a few thing before i start if i want to plow bigger trans cooler I was also thinking of getting 2500 series front coils. If i dont get the v plow theres a few straight blades around me they are 7'6. for about $2,000. So what should i do and is there any other thing that need to be beefed up???

Go read plowsite.com. This question has been posted a number of times. The general consensus is that as long as you do it rarely and with a smaller blade then you will be fine. Put a 1500 into use as a serious plow truck and you will start to tear it apart rather quickly.

get a 7.5' and put wings on it.... it'll be lighter than an 8' plow... depending on the size of wing installed.. you could clear more than 8' with a 7.5' plow
