Question Flashing CEL

Anybody know what it means when the CEL blinks?

Tonight driving home from the movies I was on the highway and went to pass someone to make my exit. I got on it pretty hard and as I was driving the CEL started blinking then went off.

When I got home I hooked up the SCT to read the code and it said no codes found.

It wasn't engine temp or trans temp (there's a separate light for that.) So what was it?

Anybody know?

Usually a flashing CEL means misfires, from what I've heard and read.

I've never seen it be anything but a misfire, multiple/random P0300.

I have been suspecting the MAP sensor for a while. It might have actually been contributing to the ping I thought was the cracking manifold.

It actually might be the vacuum tubing that connects to the map. I'll run a hose tomorrow and see if it clears up. If not, i'll get a new MAP.

Flashing CEL means the autodestruct has been initiated.

ejector seat. tell wifey to hold on real tight.

no wait, that's not what it is. flashing CEL is a counter of how many dollars you've spent on your truck. how many times did it flash ?

a bunch, I was driving down the highway and just caught it out of the corner of my eye, didn't count.

It ain't the MAP sensor. Just replaced it, still pinging.

They always say a flashing cel is bad. Mine would flash when it would misfire then go off. Eventully it would stay on and show the misfire code.
