Default Who has dealt with APS Precision?

I'm looking at purchasing a transmission from theses guys and I would
like some input from anyone who has a transmission from them or has
dealt with them. I'm pretty sure I'm going with APS for my tranny needs
but I would like to hear some feedback. thanks.

I haven't dealt with them before, but have only heard good things. Hometheaterman is the guy to talk to about them.

If you decide to go with APS, then expect to have to hound the crap out of him to get your tranny.

I had to wait for 3 months to get mine, and during that time I got too many excuses to count as to why it was being delayed. Then, once I finally did receive it, the torque converter and the plenum plate kit that I also waited for three months to get, weren't shipped with it. It was screwed down to a pallet with long wood screws and fender washers... NO protection at all like the case they show on his website. I then waited another week for the torque converter, and even longer for the plenum kit. As of right now, I've been waiting since November 10th for a part from him to firm up the 1st - 2nd shift. He told me he was sending it a few different times since then, but still no part yet!!!

Wayne seems to be a nice guy to talk to on the phone, but his business ethic, in my opinion, needs MAJOR IMPROVEMENT!!! If I had it to do over again, I would definitely go somewhere else. After his numerous excuses for the issues I've had to endure, I can't help but wonder if he really built the tranny like he claims, and what I paid all of the extra money for. I can't open it to find out, so I just have to take his word for it, the same word that has been a lot of "crap" since I ordered from him. As for the tranny, it seems to be running fine, but nothing too different than a stock one would with a mild shift kit in it. Only time will tell if it holds up as Wayne claims it will. Another thing to mention, in the quote he sent me in the beginning when he sends his sales pitch about his attention to excellence, he mentions that he even installs a drain plug in every pan for easier fluid changes. Mine doesn't have one... This is part of the reason I wouldn't swear this tranny has been built to what I paid for.

It really is a shame that I can't give him the raving reviews like HTM, and I really wanted to. I was hoping to be as happy as HTM is with his tranny. That's why I paid over $3,500 for one from him. I wouldn't do it again. Wayne is a moderator on another forum and there are a few complaints on there about him as well. It also appears that he doesn't spend too much time there anymore.

I HATE to give bad reviews, but I hate even more for someone else to have to go through the same thing I did without having a fair warning beforehand. I've been putting together a detailed review of my experience with Wayne and APS, but I've been waiting for almost 2 months for the part he "said" he was sending me to improve the shifting so I can finish the review. I can't begin to express how disappointed I am with my dealings with Wayne and APS. That's my $.02 for now.

ALSO... Wayne advertises an excellent sounding warranty and eagerly promotes it. I only pray to God that I don't ever have to actually use it!!! One of his past customers wrote a bad review on the crap he endured to get something fixed under warranty. I can't remember how long the guy said it took for things to be corrected, and how long it was to receive his tranny back. It's on the APS Precision section of the forum Wayne is a moderator on.
