Default Another one of my "is this normal threads"

This time it is about my acceleration, from a dead stop my tach goes up to about 2k before I notice any real movement with my truck, after that it is fine. I did not really notice this untill after I put the 35's on there, could they be to heavy for a stock driveline set up?

Sorry I make these alot, but most of my cars have been alot older with standards and carb setups so these new fangled deals are new to me.

depends on what gears you have in the differential. if you have 3.55's, the tires would be killing your acceleration. 4.10s are better suited for that tire size.

I have the stock gears AFAIK, but these tires are just temporary and I am probally going to go to a much smaller tire size 32's as this is a tow vehicle i really dont need big *** tires, but with the lift I need a little bit bigger than normal.

Those big tires are killing your overall gear ratio, which is going to smoke to your tranny and it sounds like its already going to take a dump soon

most people dont know to regear the diff when making a big tire swap. bigger gears takes the strain off the drivetrain.

id hurry up and swap those tires out, or regear before you tear somethin up

I know to re-gear with bigger tires but these were free tires and rims wich were needed becasue the 33's I had were to worn out, I could take the 32's off my JEEP but I am not sure the rims would fit from an 80 CJ5 to a 96 ram. That and the tires on my JEEP are all cut up and I am not sure how well they would hold up tot he weight of the truck

Buying new tires that are smaller will sure be alot cheaper than paying for a tranny build or and APS one
